Only 371 cr for Minority Welfare in AP

On allocation of a budget of just 371 crore for Minority Welfare by Andhra Pradesh government for the financial year 2014-15, Muslim MLAs of YSR Congress party staged strong protest . After the presentation of budget members of legislative assembly, Muhammad Mustafa, Jaleel Khan, Amjad Basha and Attar Chand Basha accused TDP government of cheating the minorities. They told that Chandrababu Naidu had made lofty claims with regard to Minority welfare but his real face was exposed with the presentation of budget.

The MLAs claimed that Rs. 371 cr is quite insufficient for minority population living in 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. With such a meager budget launching of schemes regarding educational and economic development of Muslims and other minorities like Christians, Sikhs and Parsis is impossible.
