Online lottery fraud, four arrested

Hyderabad: Central Crime Station of Cyber Crime Police arrested four cheaters including a Nigerian who were cheating people giving them wrong information that they won the lottery.

According to the details of the case, Mohammed Feroz Khan, a resident of Banjara Hills lodged a complaint with Cyber Crime Police that he received an email in the name of Reserve Bank of India in which it was stated that he won the lottery worth Rs. 3.6 crore. The amount would be paid to him after remitting Rs. 22 lakh towards the tax.

Feroz Khan deposited the amounts in various bank accounts of New Delhi and other places but failed to get the lottery amount.

Cyber Crime Police got the details of the mobile phone and traced out the accused. It was found that one Nigerian citizen by name David (28) and three others belonging to Delhi are involved in the fraud. Police produced the accused after getting them from Delhi on a transit warrant. They were sent to jail later.
