Hyderabad, February 04: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) managing director, M Jagadeeshwar announced that e-mail applications for new water supply connections will be introduced from February 15.
Sanctioning powers for new connections have been delegated to general managers (Engg) of all divisions after receiving feasibility report from the field online.
Applicants can pay the processing fee at the nearest cash counter. GMs were also directed to clear pending feasibility reports to already applied connections.
Regarding disconnection notices, Jagadeeshwar observed that out of 20,000 notices issued, around Rs.70 lakh had been realised.
He said notices should be issued to all consumers having either Rs.1000 arrears or not paid for three months. He added that the disconnection drive of water bill defaulters was on and help of Green Brigade contractors would be taken.
Regarding payment of overtime/ compensation to workers, he said hereafter some funds will be released to each division and the concerned GM would pay the OT/compensation to deserving workmen.
