Washington, June 16: US Mother In Court Enlarge photo Julie Carr was arrested on Friday after a tip-off from West Midlands Police about a video streamed online showing a woman performing sex acts on a child.
The 30-year-old from Mars Hill, Maine, has been charged with gross sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Her four children – believed to range from 18 months to five years old – were taken into protective custody.
Carr, who is being held in a jail on the Canadian border, did not enter a plea when she appeared in court on the video.
If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison for each charge.
Detective Sergeant John Cote from Maine state police told Fox News one of the recordings was taken as recently as last Wednesday.
He said it was impossible to work out how many people had viewed the material allegedly posted by Carr.
The investigation also led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man in Walsall, who has since been charged with possession and distribution of abusive images of children.
