TRS Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao has expressed anguish that injustice was being meted out to Telangana though the State was one and the Chief Minister was one.
Talking to the media here on Thursday, Harish Rao asked Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, who goes to Seemandhra region by helicopter whenever it was hit by cyclone, was not visiting the Telangana region when it was ravaged by hailstorm. Stating that while the Seemandhra region was being provided with seven-hour power supply, he alleged that the Telangana region was not being given even three-hour power supply.
Questioning what the Telangana ministers and MLAs were doing about the injustice being done to the region, he said this was the reason why they were demanding separate Telangana state.
Harish also said it was highly deplorable that the government which paid compensation in the Seemandhra region for the Neelam cyclone, had not paid the same in the Telangana region. He has demanded the resignations of ministers of the region on the issue.
Stating that several tribal villages of Khammam district would submerge in the Poolavaram project, he said they would once again challenge it in the supreme court. He also said that they would continue their agitation until the project was shelved. Harish Rao also alleged that the government was showing discrimination towards the farmers of Telangana even in the land acquisition for the Polavaram project.
He said he would be writing to the Chief Minister about it. He has questioned how the government could pay Rs. 3.5 lakhs to Seemandhra farmers and Rs. 1.15 lakhs to Telangana farmers. He has questioned how Telangana ministers were remaining silent over all these injustices.
