Berlin: Three people including the pilot were killed in a plane crashed in Germany on Sunday, and one of the victims has been identified as Russia’s one of the richest women.
Natalia Fileva, 55, was identified by the company she co-owns, she is a co-owner of Russia’s largest private airline S7, the company said in a statement.
Fileva husband Vladislav Filev is the CEO of is S7 airlines and she was listed in 2018 by Forbes magazine with an estimated fortune of USD 600 million as the fourth richest woman in Russia.
According to the police, a six-seater aircraft travelling from France to the town of Egelsbach south of Frankfurt went down in a field at around 1330 GMT. “After impact, the aircraft was completely burnt out,” police added.
According to the DPA news agency, a police car racing to the accident site collided with another vehicle which killed two people inside and seriously injured three police officers.
The company in its statement said, “On March 31, 2019, S7 Airlines shareholder Natalia Fileva was killed at the age of 55 during the descent in a private Epic-LT plane to (a) Frankfurt airport. The cause of the tragedy is not yet known.”
