A software professional G Sravan of Bagh Amberpet was arrested in Madhapur and sent for judicial remand by Cyberabad Cyber Crime police for allegedly harassing a woman by sending abusive messages to her mobile number.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that he obtained the complainant’s mobile number from her resume at his previous workplace where he used to work as IT-Recruiter in a Consulting firm located in Somajiguda.
The victim from Kondapur lodged a complainant with Cyber Crime PS, Cyberabad on February 15 this year alleging that despite her request not to irritate her by his criminal activities, the accused kept on sending vulgar SMSs to her. Based on her complaint, a case was registered at Cyber Crime PS, Cyberabad under Section 66(A) of Information Technology Act.
The case was investigated by S. Rajasekhar Reddy, Inspector, assisted by Sub-Inspector D. Ashish Reddy under guidance of D. Pratap Reddy, ACP, Cyber Crime PS, Cyberabad and under supervision of G. Janaki Sharmila, Addl. DCP (Crimes), Cyberabad.
Cyberabad Commissioner of Police C.V. Anand appreciated the work of the officers in detecting the case and arresting the accused. (NSS)
