One policeman was killed and four were injured while one naxalite was also killed in an encounter between police and the proscribed CPI(Maoist) in the bordering areas of Gaya and Aurangabad districts. DGP Abhayananad said today that one policeman was killed and four others were innjured during the encounter in bordering areas of Gaya and Aurangabad districts, which continued since last evening. “All the four injured policemen were rushed to the Patna Medical College Hospital(PMCH) for better treatment,” Mr Abhayanand said, adding that massive combing operation was on in dense forest and hilly areas to nab the Maoists hiding there.
The operation was being conducted by a joint team of CRPF and Bihar police while the commandos of COBRA battalion had also been deployed for the purpose. Meanwhile, DIG (CRPF) Umesh Singh said that a naxalite was also killed in the encounter with the police along Gaya-Aurangabad border.
