(Siasat News)Around two lakh out of a total of 3.40 lakh engineering seats in the state might remain vacant.
Total 2,07,473 candidates were called for certificate verification of which only 1,34,740 turned up as the certificate verification process concluded on Thursday.
Many students migrated to other states, as there was a delay in counseling schedule.
Seat allotted will be announced on September 14 and from September 17 classes will commence.
However officials expect one-lakh seats to go vacant in the counseling alone they concluded this considering that usually 10,000 students cancels their seats after the seat allotment. In management one lakh seats are available of which it is expected that only 10, 000 seat will be filled in the top colleges.
Meanwhile YSR Congress honorary president Y.S. Vijayalakshmi launched a two-day fast on Thursday, demanding full fee reimbursement. She ask the Govt. “how can poor student could pay the remaining fee which is ranging from Rs.15, 000 to Rs.75, 000”.
