One lakh DBR houses to be built in city this year: Talasani

Hyderabad: Reminding that the TRS government targeted to build one lakh double bedroom houses under slum clearance program in the capital city, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said the KCR government achieved unique distinction in the country by taking up construction of double bedroom houses in the IDH colony.
The minister was speaking after laying foundation stone for a shopping complex in the IDH colony under his Sanathnagar Assembly constituency. Stating that the shopping complex would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 43 lakh, Srinivas Yadav pointed out that the TRS government constructed 396 double bedroom houses at a cost of Rs 36 crore in the colony and handed them over to the homeless families.
Similarly, the State government has decided to build one lakh houses in various slum areas in the city during the 2016-17 financial year and tender process was in progress, he added. In the shopping complex, 15 shops would be constructed and seven would be allotted to IDH colony, six for Parthiwada and two for shops for Ammuguda, he added.
Housing Corporation executive engineer Venkatadas Reddy, local corporator Hemalatha, GHMC Secunderabad deputy commissioner Vijayaraju, Hyderabad Water Works DGM Sunil, AE Ramesh, Streetlights deputy EE Mahesh and TRS leaders were present. (NSS)
