One person died and three were injured when a major fire broke out in Jharkhand’s steel city of Jamshedpur, Sunday, police said.
According to police, fire broke out in the Chayanagar neighbourhood of the city and gutted more than a dozen houses. One person died and three were injured in the fire. The injured have been admitted to a local hospital.
Locals alleged that the fire brigade vehicle reached late to extinguish the fire. The fire spread very fast as the houses were made of bamboo. Rescue operations are going on in the area.
The cause of the fire is yet to ascertained.
