Srinagar, October 30: An elderly man was killed and another seriously injured when a wild bear attacked them in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
The bear attacked Jaleel Ahmad Dar and Ghulam Rasool outside their houses in village Ladipora in Sumbal, 26 kms from here, last evening.
Police said the injured were shifted to hospital where Dar succumbed to injuries.
Soon after the incident, people took to the streets and staged a demonstration against the wildlife department for its failure to check the frequent attacks by wild bears.
