The Kulsumpura police on Tuesday arrested a hotel worker on the charges of murdering his colleague on November 8.
The accused, Ambrapata Venkatappa (31), allegedly killed another co-worker S Raju on the terrace of Patel Hotel at Pancha Bhai Alawa of Jiyaguda. He was arrested at Nampally Railway Station before he could board a train to his native place Tandur of Ranga Reddy district.
According to police, Venkatappa had an altercation with the deceased on November 8 when he objected to his washing the clothes which disturbed his sleep. Raju allegedly abused Venkatappa using filthy language. Felt humiliated, he hit Raju with an iron rod on the head while he was asleep. At the same moment, two co-workers Naveen Kumar and Mahaboob arrived at the terrace and were shocked to find the accused Venkatappa standing by the side of deceased along with the iron rod. On seeing them, he ran away from the spot.
The accused has been sent to judicial remand, according to Inspector R Karan Kumar Singh, who investigated the case. (INN)
