One held for Ganja smuggling; 40kg Contraband Seized

On Thursday, sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team,

Hyderabad, apprehended one Ch Raja of Eleshwaram Mandal of East Godavari district with the assistance of Inspector, Anti Narcotic Cell, C.C.S., D.D. and seized 40 kg Ganja, one Micromax mobile phone from his possession.

On Thursday, accussed Ch Raja was apprehended and 40 kg ganja was seized from his possession at platform No. 52, MGBS, Hyderabad. The accused while searching for a job, came into contact with one Anantha Ramesh of Tuni, East Godavari

District, a ganja supplier and helped him in transporting and selling Ganja in Hyderabad by collecting it from Anantha Ramesh and earning Rs 10,000 per each consignment. On Wednesday, Raja collected 20 packets of Ganja, each containing 2 kg, kept in two white plastic bags and reached Hyderabad, MGBS bus station on Thursday and waiting for instructions from Anantha Ramesh. In the meantime, police apprehended him with contraband Ganja. In this case, the prime accused Anantha Ramesh is absconding.

The arrest and seizure was made under the supervision of N. Koti Reddy, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad City by A. Yadagiri, Inspector, South Zone Task Force, Hyderabad, A. Ravi, Inspector, A.N.C., C.C.S., D.D., Hyd and SIs SK Jakeer Hussain, G.Mallesh, B. Madhusudan and N. Srishylam along with the staff. (NSS)
