One held for cheating job aspirants

Hyderabad: The CCS Police have nabbed one Manukonda Ramana Rao, who allegedly cheated several unemployed youths on the pretext of providing them jobs in reputed IT companies in Hyderabad and collected huge amounts from them.

In the year 2013, the accused claiming to be Managing Director of Messrs Anu Consultancy in Khammam invited several unemployed engineering graduates through social networks and other sources, by inducing them to facilitate in the interviews being conducted at various IT Companies viz., IBM, Cognizant, Capgemini etc., by managing the HR Executives.

From July 2013 to February 2014, Manukonda Ramana Rao in connivance with Vemuri Sujay Bala, Gajja Jagadeeswar Reddy and Ramesh Basvani (former employees of IBM Company, Hyderabad), made the innocent job aspirants to deposit amounts into his bank accounts operated at ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and SBI of Khammam. Later, he took the candidates to IBM company after receiving mails from Vemuri Sujay Bala calling for interviews. After completion of interviews, the accused issued fake job offer letters to their mail IDs and when the complainant and other victims verified those job offer letters, they found that it was fake. In this MNNER, M. Ramana Rao collected some Rs 60 Lakh from several unemployed youths and vanished.

Manukonda Ramana Rao was arrested on November 22 at CCS, DD, Hyderabad and on interrogation, he confessed to his guilt of committing this offence and A- 1 is being produced before the Court to remand for judicial custody.
