“One dog is more important than a million African-Americans”, writes Ohio firefighter

Ohio [US]: Tyler Roysdon, a volunteer firefighter of Franklin Township in Ohio State, US wrote an offensive comment on his Facebook account which triggered controversy. After making the comment, his job is at stake.

According to the news published in The Washington Post, this 20-year-old firefighter wrote, “One dog is more important than a million African-Americans”. He even used the n-word in his post.

It may be mentioned that n-word is negatively used to refer to African-American people.

He wrote this post when racial tensions are mounting across the country. Later, the post was deleted from his account.

Township in a statement said that the Fire Chief, Steve Bishop immediately contacted the firefighter and asked him to remove his comment from the facebook. The Board of Township Trustees suspended Roysdon until next meeting to determine further course of action.

Meanwhile, a woman claiming to be his wife told media men that he accepts his mistake and seeks an apology. She further said that everyone deserves a second chance.

According to the report published in Journal-News, next meeting of the township trustees is on 27th September to address the charges.

Talking on this issue, Trustee President, Brian Morris told that he was disgusted with the firefighter for what he wrote.
