At Gachibowli on Sunday afternoon,a 35-year-old Saleha Begum died when a car being driven at a high speed hit their bike .Four others, including three of her family, suffered injuries.
The deceased was from Marthanda Nagar in Hafeezpet. The injured included her husband Jaffer, a private employee, their children Akbar and Ajmal, and a passenger in the car, Chinni.
The mishap took place when the family was homecoming after visiting their relatives at Tolichowki. And near Gachibowli, a Swift rear-ended their bike.
SalehaBegum, Jaffer, their two sons, Akbar and Ajmal, Chinni suffered injuries in the incident and were rushed to a nearby hospital by police.
According to the Sub Inspector Saleha Begum was declared brought dead at the hospital.Due to severe head injuries the condition of Jaffer and Akbar is said to be critical. The other two victims suffered minor injuries.
A manhunt was launched against the driver as he was absconding. Police booked a case under sections 304-A (Causing death by rash or negligent act) and 337 (Endangering human life) of the IPC.
