One person died and 12 others were injured in a clash between two groups of Muharram processionists here last night, police said today.
The clash occured in Nazra Mohammad village last night as both the groups wanted to take out the procession ahead of
the other, police said.
In the clash, in which lathis were used, one Mohammad Suleman died while 12 others of both the groups were injured,
the sources said.
The situation was brought under control after the intervention of District Magistrate Kumar Ravi and
Superintendent of Police Kumar Ekliye, they said.
Additional police force has been sent to the village to maintain peace, sources said.
