One arrested with fake currency

Agartala, August 25: One person was arrested with fake Indian currency in North Tripura district here today.

According to police, one Md Abdul Hannan, a resident of Kailashahar, first purchased fish from the Pecharthal market and paid the amount to a seller.

But the seller detected that the Rs five hundred note that was given to him was fake and immediately informed the police about the crime.

Subsequently, Hannan was arrested and Rs 4,500 fake currency was recovered from his possession.

Police interrogating the accused is trying to find out whether he was involved with any gang to circulate such fake notes in the state and outside.
