Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has accepted the proposal to increase the pension almost seven times from Rs 26,000 to Rs 1.70 lakh per month.
It seems CM Chouhan is securing his retirement and that of former chief ministers too, by increasing the pension almost seven times.
It is to be noted that, currently, the Madhya Pradesh CM – Shivraj Singh Chouhan draws Rs 2 lakh per month.
However, this pension will not be given when a former chief minister occupies a position in the Union or the State Cabinet. Former Congress leader Digvijaya Singh will also get benefited from this decision
Ironically, the opposition Congress is not against the steep hike but couldn’t resist taking a jibe at Chouhan.
“It’s a natural process, I think. But I feel Shivraj Singh seems to be a man in hurry as if he is trying to secure his future,” said Arun Yadav, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee chief.
