OMFED milk to be costlier by Rs 2 per litre

Bhubaneswar, January 24: Milk sold by Orissa State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (OMFED) would be costlier by Rs two per litre, official sources said today.

The price of OMFED milk, which is Rs 20 per litre at present, would be increased to Rs 22 as part of efforts to enable the federation to overcome severe financial crisis, they said.

The new prices would come into effect from February one, they added.

In view of steep rise in prices of fodder and medicines as well as transportation cost, it was decided to raise the milk rate, they said.
