Omer Jaleel urges MFC to release budget for Minority Welfare schemes

Key schemes of Minority Welfare have been affected as the release of budget has been stalled by the government. Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel met the officials of Finance Department and urged them to issue budget for key schemes. He asked them to issue budget towards Overseas Scholarship scheme, Shaadi Mubarak and Owner cum driver scheme as the beneficiaries of these schemes are deprived of aid. He urged the Finance Department to issue atleast 20 Cr immediately so that Overseas Scholarship Scheme and Owner Cum Driver scheme could be implemented. Rs. 5 lakh as 1st instalment to 210 students selected for Overseas Scholarship Scheme is payable for which 11.5 Cr is required. Besides that Rs. 8 Cr is required to provide auto rickshaws to 1000 drivers of Hyderabad and Rangareddy.

Meanwhile a large number of students and parents have reached Siasat Help Line Centre and complained that no one is there to hear their problems in Minority Welfare offices.
