Srinagar, July 10: As many as 13 new faces, including five from the National Conference, will be inducted in the Jammu and Kashmir cabinet tomorrow, taking the strength of the six-month-old coalition ministry to 23.
Tomorrow’s cabinet expansion will see inclusion of ministers of cabinet rank, ministers of state with independent charges and minister of states.
Sakina Itoo, who has braved as many as five suicide attempts on her life by Lashker-e-Taiba militants, will be the first woman minister in Omar’s cabinet.
The oath will be administered by Governor N N Vohra at a ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
Omar and nine cabinet ministers — five from Congress and four from NC — had taken oath on January 5 after the two parties formed a coalition following a hung verdict in the December 2008 state assembly elections.
