Omar shown black flags at rally

Jammu, October 20: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was today shown black flags by JKNPP activists in protest of his Kashmir accession remarks, when he was addressing a rally in Samba district.

The incident took place at Ramgarh, about 50km from here, where he was addressing a public meeting, police said.

Provincial general secretary of JKNPP, Rajesh Padgotra, reached the venue along with provincial vice-president Khajoor Singh and raised black flags pointing to Omar.

Padgotra also raised slogans: “Omar-Farooq Go Back….

Omar Go Go and J&K is with India and remains with India”.

However, police arrested him and took away from the venue.

Confirming the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police J L Sharma said that flag backs were raised by few workers of JKNPP and one of them Rajesh has been arrested and case registered against him.

Omar termed the incident as unfortunate.
