Srinagar :Former chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday questioned the delay on part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The National Conference leader suggested that the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly should be dissolved if the BJP and PDP are not in a position to form the government.
“It is two months from now that Mufti Muhammad Sayeed passed away. People await a government in Jammu and Kashmir. We want to ask the BJP and the PDP, how long do we have to wait for it?” Omar said.
“They must answer how much more time they require to form the government. And if they have no answer, they should ask the Governor to dissolve the Assembly,” he added.
Jammu and Kashmir has been under the Governor’s rule since Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed died on January 7. (ANI)
