Omar condemns separatists for meeting Aziz

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has criticized Kashmir’s separatist leaders for meeting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz.

“You will not achieve these things by meeting Sartaj Aziz. You can achieve by holding the reins of government here. Don’t adopt duplicitous policy. When you don’t have any agenda, you talk of electricity, road and water. When elections are near, you urge (people) to boycott it,” Abdullah said on Thursday during his visit to Tral District.

The separatists apparently met Aziz, who was on a trip to New Delhi for the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), seeking a resolution on the Kashmir issue. Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Muhammad Yasin Malik, hardline Hurriyat group headed by Syed Ali Geelani, and moderate Hurriyat faction leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq all had met Aziz.

He further added that the enemies of J and K reside in the state only.

“The biggest misfortune of Kashmir’s people is that our enemies are not outside our state, we ourselves are our enemies,” said Abdullah. (ANI)
