Srinagar, May 17: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today asked young medicos to see beyond the cities and towns and make their services available to over 70 per cent population living in rural and remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
“They (People in rural ares) are in dire need of your service and you can render it easily when you are young and single,” he said inaugurating a state-of-the-art auditorium at Srinagar Dental College here.
Noting that upgradation of dental colleges in the state was high on his government’s agenda, he said, “We want to convert these into reputed schools of learning which produce doctors and surgeons par-excellence.”
Claiming that the government is spending a lot of money on doctors, he said the medical fraternity must have a sense of responsibility towards the society.
