Omani national’s family visa recovered from Chief Qazi’s possession

Hyderabad: During its drive against minor girls’ marriage with Arab nationals, Falaknuma police raided the house of Chief Qazi Ali Abdullah Rifai and recovered family visa of Omani national sent to an old-city girl. According to sources, following the complaint by an old-city girl named Asma, Chandrayangutta police extended the custody of the qazi on October 14 for further 3 days and raided his office. During the raid, police recovered family visa of girl’s Omani husband.

It must be recalled that last week the girl had lodged a complaint with Chandrayangutta police stating that Qazi Ali Abdullah Rifai had collected lakhs of rupees for solemnising the marriage but has illegally kept girl’s passport and family visa with him. He was said to have refused to hand over them to the girl.
