Oman: More than 1000 expats arrested

Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower and the Royal Oman Police (ROP) released data on the number of expats arrested in Oman. As per the information, more than 1000 expats were arrested in the past 23 days. They were arrested for their alleged involvement in theft, drugs, begging etc.

According to the report published in Times of Oman, another 554 expats were deported from Oman.

These expats are from both Arabian and Asian countries.

Out of total 1066 arrested expats, 68 women were arrested for committing acts which are against public morals.

Due to inspection which was carried out on 23rd January, 403 expats were arrested due to the violation of labour laws.

Sixteen Asian were also arrested for making an attempt to smuggle diesel.
