Old city traders hit by intermittent power cuts

Ramadan is observed with full devotion and fervour in the city of Hyderabad. People buy new clothes to celebrate Eid after fasting for the whole month. Nayapul to Charminar stretch turns into a human sea, as the shoppers throng to buy the articles according to their requirments.

While the Muslims try to seek blessings of Allah, trade sees an upsurge during the holy month. There are nearly 5 to 6 thousand shops in the area. According to Mr. Hasan Barazeeq nearly 25 thousand people find work at cloth shops and showrooms during Ramadan.

Most of the businessmen complained of frequent power disruptions and told that the power goes off for nearly 6 to 8 hours; as a result businessmen face a lot of difficulties.
Some businessmen pointed out that traffic is also a major problem at Madina market to Shah Ali Banda stretch. Cloth traders claimed that shop owners and consumers will get relief if Commissioner police Hyderabad and town planning officials take measures to ease the traffic flow at Nayapul to Shah Ali Banda stretch.
