Hyderabad, April 09: With the situation in riot-hit areas of the Old City remaining peaceful during the lifting of day curfew for the last three days, authorities today decided to further relax movement of public from 12 hours to 17 hours, while hinting on completely lifting night curfew soon.
“With improvement in situation in the riot-hit localities, curfew relaxation period has been extended for another four hours from today. If the normal situation continues we will soon, in a day or two, completely lift curfew,” Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police A K Khan told reporters.
The city police had lifted day curfew (6 am to 6 pm) since Wednesday and no untoward incident was reported, even as police kept a strict vigil in and around Charminar today in view of Friday prayers.
“Curfew has now been clamped between 10 pm to 5 am.
