Old City Metro Rail JAC seeks CPI support

Seeking the support of CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy on the movement demanding Metro Rail Project in Old City, Old City Metro Rail JAC submitted a memorandum to Chada Venkat Reddy here on Friday.

The all party leaders—Rashid Sharif (TRS), ET Narasimha (CPI), Allam Bhasker (Congres), Ale Bhaskar (BJP) and Ansar Rehaman (TDP) have met Chada Venkat Reddy at Maqdhoom Bhavan and urged him to extend his support to their movement for Metro Rail in Old City.

Speaking on the occasion, Chada opined that the State government should have launched the works of Old City Metro Rail project, which was very useful to the people of Old City. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao succumbed to the pressure of communalistic forces and made Old City as Metro Rail less City. He demanded that the State government launch metro rail works immediately after taking up survey at first proposed route in the Old City.

The JAC leaders also said they would launch padayatra from Meeralam Mandi to Shalibanda on December 17 demanding that the State government start Metro Rail works in the Old City immediately. They said TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, BJP leader G Kishan Reddy, CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy, CPM State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram and thousands of people would participate in the padayatra.
