Old city cries for water, as govt sanctions 25Cr to RR dist

The state government has sanctioned Rs 25 crore for Ranga Reddy district to meet the drinking water needs during this summer. Once again govt neglected the old city where people are forced to buy drinking water bottles.

Govt strictly supplies close to 8 hour water to animals of zoo, but state govt is not taking any measures to provide water facilities to almost 48 lakhs people living in old cities of Hyderabad.

Mohd from Shaheen nagar said that being after the locals have made many requests to the govt officials, but seems govt officials have closed their eyes.

Not only the areas in old city see water scarcity, also most of the time gets water of bad quality in the areas where govt supply water for 1 hour a day.

Inaugurating the mineral water plant and kitchen room in a school at Mokila village of RR district on Sunday, the Transport minister P Mahender Reddy said that govt is putting all efforts to meet the needs of drinking water shortage due to drying of borewells and steps are being taken to supply drinking water through water tankers. Efforts are underway to revive the defunct borewells.

Mahender Reddy also inaugurated various developmental works worth Rs 6.61 crore in Saroornagar mandal relating to road works that include Champapet to Badangpet (Rs 80 lakh), Sahebnagar to Lenin Nagar (Rs 1.95 crore), Nadergul to Balapur (Rs 60 lakh) and Nadergul to Bonguluru (Rs 2.08 crore).
