Ola, Uber drivers on strike

Telangana Cabs’ Association president M Sunil today called for strike from 12 midnight on Monday.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, Sunil said as the Ola and Uber managements did not concede their demands, they met Transport Minister Mahendar Reddy and RTA officials. But their problems were not solved. He also said the management foisted illegal cases against the drivers. As a result, 15 drivers committed suicide because they could not pay EMIs dues to the Banks. He pointed out on Saturday one driver Praveen alias Kondaiah committed suicide as the Ola and Uber owners declined to pay a single rupee to his family.

Sunil said the TSDA (Telangana State Drivers Association), THCA (Telangana Hyderabad Cabs Association) and other organizations are participating in the strike from Monday midnight. (NSS)
