Lucknow : India’s most popular mobile app for transportation, today announced the launch of electric-rickshaws (popularly known as E-Rickshaws), on its app in Lucknow. With this launch, Lucknow becomes the second city in India to get E-Rickshaws on the Ola app, after Delhi-NCR, where it was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, in April 2016. Ola is addressing last-mile connectivity by enabling reliable mobility in one of the fastest growing metros in India and the largest city in Uttar Pradesh. The company plans to onboard more than 300 E-Rickshaws over the next 3 months.

Sant Ram, the first E-Rickshaw driver on the Ola platform in Lucknow said, “It is wonderful how technology can bring a cab, Auto and even an E-Rickshaw to the customer’s location within minutes. I am thrilled about joining the Ola platform. With the training that I have received in the last few days, I am confident of serving my customers better and also increasing my daily earnings.”
For added convenience of E-Rickshaw drivers, the Ola app for them is available in 8 Indian languages including English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu, making it extremely convenient and user friendly for local drivers to use. Every E-rickshaw driver-partner on the Ola app goes through a KYC verification and training across behavioral, etiquette and technology to make the ride experience seamless for customers.
E-Rickshaws have been made available in Lucknow at Rs. 20 for the first kilometer and Rs. 8 per km thereafter making them immensely useful for short trips. Ola offers a range of smart commuting options in Lucknow that include multiple cab options like ‘Sedan’ and ‘Mini’, Autos and now E-rickshaws. (ANI)
