India beat New Zealand by seven wickets to clinch the five-match ODI series 3-0. The opener Rohit Sharma scored 62 of 77 balls as India chased down the target of 244 with seven overs to spare.
Rohit Sharma has hit two sixes and with that, he equalled former India captain MS Dhoni’s number of sixes record for India in One Day Internationals.
The veteran batsman MS Dhoni has a total of 222 sixes in 337 ODIs under his belt, among which seven of those came while playing for Asia XI. It means in the 50-over format, Dhoni has hit 215 sixes for India.
During the third ODI against New Zealand, Rohit Sharma has hit two maximums which took his tally of sixes to 215 in ODIs, thereby equalling MS Dhoni’s record for India.
Sachin Tendulkar stands second in this list, he got 195 sixes under his belt for India in ODIs. The former captain Sourav Ganguly with 89 sixes stands third while Yuvraj Singh with 153 stands fourth in the list.
