Health Minister Dr. C. Lakshma Reddy on Saturday stated that the building of Osmania General Hospital would be evacuated soon by shifting patients to different hospitals in the city.
Speaking to media persons here, the minister reiterated that the OGH building was in highly dilapidated condition and it could collapse anytime. In view of bad condition, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed for immediate evacuation so as to construct a new structure.
The minister said that the patients, presently admitted in the OGH, would be shifted to Nampally Area Hospital, King Koti Hospital and Malakpet Area Hospital. Steps are also being taken to shift nearly 200 patients to Care Hospital. The orthopaedic and Gastro-enterology patients will be admitted in King Koti Hospital, he said.
The State Government is also making a comprehensive plan to improve the conditions in all government hospitals situated in Hyderabad and other districts, he said. (INN)
