Officials taken off exam duty for laxity

Hyderabad, March 17: The chief superintendents and departmental officers of Nirmala Hryudaya Junior College and CSI Junior College in Nizamabad district were removed from Intermediate examination duty following allegations.

The RIO of Intermediate Board replaced them today following a complaint from the DRO of Nizamabad stating the officials concerned were not vigilant in duty.

According to a release, the Intermediate exams have been conducted peacefully elsewhere in the state, excluding some minor incidents. In all, 6.24 lakh candidates registered for writing Mathematics-IIB, Zoology-II and History-II examinations but 25,697 were absent. The authorities registered 40 cases of malpractice.

The chief superintendent of Narayana Junior College in Viskahapatnam registered a malpractice case and a police case against a candidate who left the examination centre without handing over the answer sheet. Another person was held for impersonation at Vinukonda in Guntur district.
