Officials of Minority Welfare are equally responsible along with the government, for non-implementation of Minority Welfare schemes. As a result of lack of monitoring and accountability among officials of minority welfare, various schemes in Hyderabad are processed at snail’s pace. Two months ago Assistant Commissioner of Minority Welfare V Kumar was appointed as District Minority Welfare Officer but he showed no interest in implementation of schemes as a result nearly 1200 applications of Shaadi Mubarak Scheme await scrutiny. Officials have no interest in resolving the applications. It is said that work is paralyzed in the office of District Minority Welfare office for two months and applications are forced to make rounds of the office for approval of various schemes.
