A meeting of officials of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was held to discuss the division of minority institutions like Urdu Academy, CEDM and Survey Commissioner Waqf between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states. Secretary Minority Welfare Telangana Syed Omer Jaleel, Special Secretary Minority Welfare Andhra Pradesh Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal, Director Minority Welfare Jalaluddin Akber and Secretary Director Urdu Academy Prof. S A Shukoor attended the meeting.
Officers decided that suggestions regarding division of the said three institutions would be submitted to the committee. After the approval of the committee both the governments would issue separate orders. Assets of Urdu academy will be distributed on state level. The assets located in either state will be the property of the same state.
It must be noted that split of Hajj Committee, Waqf Board and Minority Finance Corporation has already been done.
