Newly appointed finance officer, H. Zarina Begum took up charge as finance officer at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology (KMIO), after one whole month, here on August 1.
Zarina, 54, was posted at KMIO as finance officer on June 24. When she went to report her duty on June 26 at KMIO, she was not allowed to take charge as the previous holder of the post, Nimmy Hegde was still serving in the post.
Previously, she was the finance manager with the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation. The principal secretary of the medical education department informed her that she had to report to work, but could not do so until August 1, as her transfer order was not accepted by KMIO.
An official reminder was issued to the finance department of KMIO to appoint Zarina. The reminder also instructed Nimmy Hegde to take up her post of finance officer with the food and civil supplies department on August 1.
