Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir, former Minister of Govt. of AP appealed to Mr. Salman Khurshid Union Minister of Minorities Affairs to get interim orders to ensure 4.5% reservations for the Muslims so that the future of 350 Muslim students could be saved who would get seats in IIT’s if reservations are implemented. He spoke to Mr. Khursheed and apprised him of 4% reservations given to the Muslims by AP Govt.
He told that certain forces approached AP High Court to get these reservations cancelled but the Govt. sought relief by approaching Supreme Court. He pointed out that by apprising the specific situation, interim orders could be obtained from the Supreme Court.
