Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman, Prof M Kodandaram, today called upon the people to prevent the forthcoming visit of YSR Congress Party Honorary Chairman Y S Vijayamma to Sircilla Town on July 23 where she would undertake ‘deeksha’ in support of handloom workers. Talking to mediapersons here, he said without clarity on the separate statehood issue, Ms vijayamma cannot take up any ‘Deeksha’ in the Telangana region. Prof Kodandaram faulted the Andhra Pradesh Government for inviting tenders for the Polavaram Project and opening it yesterday and asked the YSR Congress Party to make their stand clear on tribal areas which will be allegedly submerged in the district if the construction of Polavaram project is completed. Prof Kodandaram also alleged the YSR Congress Party vote to UPA’s Presidential Candidate Pranab Mukherjee was only a part of ‘match fixing’ to get bail to its President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is currently lodged in Chanchalguda Jail in the illegal assets case.
