Hisar: A shocking outrageous incident of a Grandmother in her late fifties, burnt private parts of her 4-yr-old minor grand daughter in obsession over a grandson has been reported in Haryana’s Sirsa District.
The outrageous incident came to light ten days later, when the district’s child protection committee officials received information about the atrocity.
The victim is a four-year-old girl, third girl child to her father who is a labourer by profession is currently undergoing treatment at a local civil hospital.
Police is currently investigating the matter and have filed a case against the Grandmother under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
Geeta Kathuria official of the Child protection committee said, “The victim’s grandmother wanted a baby boy in her family. After seeing the baby girl playing in front of her, she got angry and burnt the child’s private parts using a pair of hot tongs. We have taken up the matter with the police and they will take appropriate action in the case”.
“The girl’s father is a labourer by profession. We summoned him on Thursday but he did not turn up. Then we visited the spot and rescued the girl and rushed her to hospital for treatment” said the officer.
Villagers claim the little girl have lately been physically being abused by the elder family member.
Vijay Kakkar, Deputy superintendent of police (DSP, headquarters) speaking on the case said, “We have registered a case on the complaint of the child protection committee. We will arrest the culprit as soon as we get some leads.”
