Various Ulema and Khazis made objections on the proposal of issuing online certificates pertaining to marriage,divorce , conversion of religion , appointment of Managing committees and Mutawali’s of Wakf properties through Me-Seva Centers. A meeting of various Islamic scholars and khazis was held yesterday under the chairmanship of Maulana Khaleel Ahmed. Another parallel session of Shia Ulema was also held for the issue. It was considered that this system is not practicable. It will create a lot of confusion since the staffs working in Me-Seva centers are not acquainted with Urdu. It is therefore difficult for them to processes these applications. More over, they have to verify records from A.P. State Wakf Board. They have also to correlate from the record of Khazis concerted.
If there is a need for the applicants for any correction in applications and in there
Records, they have to compare it with the record so khazis. The applicants have to present themselves personally in wakf board and they are required to present their original documents. The participants of the meeting felt that since private persons manage Me-Seva centers, they cannot be trusted.
The inhibitions of tampering of records cannot be ruled out these centers do not have any previous records of the marriages, divorces etc. which are the sensitive issues pertaining to the same committee. This data could also be misused or exploited by the vested interests. Mr. Khusro Pasha told that the process of appointment of Mulawallis and Management committees of wakf properties is very complicated. Simply making entries in the records of the work board registers cannot make these appointments. A report has to be collected from the inspector/ auditor of wakf. If need be, legal opinion has to be sought. Advertisements are issued in newspapers before appointing Mulawalis and Managing Committees. All these matters cannot be dealt with by Me-Seva centers. It was decided in the meeting to oppose this system.
