Obesity: a threat to city youngsters

A new survey which was conducted in Universities has revealed that nearly 40 per cent university students are either obese or are over-weight. Almost 27 per cent of students who are rated as obese are in the age group of 17 to 20 and 11 per cent were classified as overweight.

Researchers found that lack of knowledge among students about medicines, lack of sleep, emotional factor, smoking, age pregnancy, inactive lifestyle were some of the causes of obesity.

A SAMPLE DIET CHART FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE OBESE.

BREAKFAST:
2 medium-sized idlis or one cup of oats which are rich in fibre and with low chlosterolor upma
a fruit or a small glass of buttermilk or vegetable soup (without cream and corn flour)should have between breakfast and lunch.

LUNCH
Have 1/4th cup of rice with very little curry 1 phulka. 1 full plate of sprouts and vegetable salad and 1 small cup of curd.

EVENING:
Green Tea or roasted rice flakes or buttermilk or orange or sweet lime (custard apple, chickoo, mango )are completely no for these people.

DINNER:
