The obedience of Husband is obligatory on the part of Wife and in the same manner, maintenance of Wife is the responsibility of Husband. Avoiding unnecessary expenditure in weddings, Valima Dinner etc., should be made compulsory. It is not the responsibility of the parents of the bride to bear the expenses of first confinement of pregnant women. Muslim women should refrain from unnecessary expenditure on various occasions and function.
These were the thoughts expressed by various speakers of State level Muslim Ladies conference held at Eidgah Miralam yesterday.
Dr. Rehana Sultana told that Islam did not prevent women from getting education. Islam also gave share in inheritance of properties. It elevated the status of women. She told that Nikah Should be made so simpler that rape becomes difficult. She pointed out that in our society, marriage of a widow or a divorced women is looked down upon whereas in Islam it is encouraged.
Dr. Rizwana Zareen, Principal of Jamiatul Mominath told that wives should serve their husbands gladly to get the favour from Allah. Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said that a woman with whom her husband is happy at the time of his death would be rewarded paradise.
Dr. Nazima Aziz told that there are more disadvantages of internet, TV and Mobile Phones than advantages. Dr. Tahmeena Tahseen told that Nikah is a source of love and fraternity. Dr. Atiya Khaleel said that Allah has promoted business and prohibited interest.
Ms. Rizwana Khatoon, Ms. Athar Jafri, Ms. Anees Fatima, Ms. Nabila Naila, Ms. Atika Banu, Ms. Fahmida Begum, Dr. Syeda Amatul Mateen etc., spoke on this occasion.
