Washington, April 07: The advancement of new nuclear strategy by Barack Obama is to put an end to the efforts of Iran and North Korea’s eager pursual for nuclear programs.
The Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates mentioned, “There is a message for Iran and North Korea here.”
Reflecting to the Obama’s new strategy he mentioned that there is no threat for those nation who abide by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty apart from those nation relenting to go for it and he added, “if you’re not going to play by the rules, if you’re going to be a proliferator, then all options are on the table in terms of how we deal with you.”
According to the new nuclear strategy if any nation is found conducting conventional, biological or cyber attacks then there will be a strong retaliation from United States.
In the fifty-page ‘Nuclear Posture Review’ released on Tuesday sighted, “the massive nuclear arsenal we inherited from the cold-war era is poorly suited to address the challenges posed by suicidal terrorist and unfriendly regimes seeking nuclear weapons.”
The two senior Republican Party national security experts — Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl, both of Arizona mentioned, “We believe that preventing nuclear terrorism and nuclear proliferation should begin by directly confronting the two leading proliferators and supporters of terrorism, Iran and North Korea. The Obama administration’s policies, thus far, have failed to do that, and this failure has sent exactly the wrong message to other would be proliferators and supporters of terrorism.”
In contrast to opposition party’s view Gates revealed, “The United States will continue to hold accountable any state, terrorist group or other nonstate actor that supports or enables terrorist efforts to obtain or use weapons of mass destruction, whether by facilitating, financing, or providing expertise or safe haven for such efforts.”
North Korea was caught last year helping Syria build a nuclear reactor and concentrating to such illegal activity, Mr. Obama, stated, “I don’t think countries around the world are interested in testing our credibility when it comes to these issues. The message we’re sending here was that countries that ‘actively pursue a proliferation agenda’ would not be immune from any form of American retaliation, including nuclear.”
In the process to shape the behavior of Iran and North Korea this nuclear review is made and for which even America is going to take the initiative to reduce the size of its own stockpiles in order to encourage other nonnuclear states to assist them in this mission to stop nuclear threat.
The non nuclear countries are asked to join in the nonproliferation treaty that they are exempt from any nuclear attack, especially targeting both North Korea and Iran, Obama’s aides stated,“We think we now have credibility Bush never did to tighten the noose. But it will be a very, very slow process.”
