Washington, April 19: President Barack Obama will travel to New York this week to give a special address on Wall Street reforms, the White House announced today as he launches a major campaign to galvanise support for his financial reform package aimed at making Wall Street firms more accountable.
“Almost two years after the crisis hit and almost one year after the administration first laid out a detailed plan for holding the Wall Street more accountable and protecting consumers, he will call for swift Senate action,” the White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said in a statement.
“The crisis has already wiped out trillions of dollars in family wealth and cost over 8 million jobs,” he said.
