Obama to convene National Security Council meeting

US President Barack Obama has convened a National Security Council meeting to discuss the situation arising after the horrific terror attack in Paris, according to a White House official.

The meeting is scheduled to be held before he leaves for Turkey to attend the G-20 Summit and then to Malaysia and Philippines, that would keep him away from the US for more than a week.

The President would convene his National Security Council before departing for the G20 Summit to review the latest intelligence surrounding the attacks in Paris, the official added.
